1. Introduction
These General Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the rental of vehicles from Move by HOOGA. By signing or electronically accepting the rental agreement, the customer (“Renter”) acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms.
2. Driver Age and Driving Licence
- The renter and any additional driver must be at least 23 years old.
- The maximum driver age is 75 years old.
- The driver must hold a valid driving licence for at least 2 years.
- Additional accepted driving licence types: EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Israel, Switzerland, non-EU Latin.
- For driving licences issued in non-Latin characters, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
- A valid passport or identity card is required at vehicle pick-up.
3. Reservations and Vehicle Categories
- Reservations are made by vehicle category. A specific vehicle model is not guaranteed.
- In the event of unavailability, a similar vehicle from the same category will be provided.
- If no vehicle is available in the same category, a free upgrade may be offered.
4. Rental Duration, Extension and Late Return
- The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
- Rental extensions are possible upon contacting the company.
- A grace period of 60 minutes applies after the agreed return time.
- In the event of a late return, 50% of the daily rental rate will be charged.
- No refund will be provided in the event of an early return.
5. Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods: Credit Card (online), Debit Card (online), Credit Card at Pick-up, Bank Transfer, Debit Card at Pick-up, Cash at Pick-up.
6. Insurance and Security Deposit
- The excess and security deposit amounts vary according to the vehicle category. The exact amount will be displayed during the booking process in the insurance section.
- TPL is included in the rental price.
- CDW/TPL is available.
- A security deposit is required for CDW/TPL (depending on the vehicle category), payable by credit card.
- Full Insurance is available.
7. Fuel Policy
- Same-to-Same: The vehicle is delivered with a certain fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level.
- If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the cost of the missing fuel will be calculated based on the current local retail fuel price on the return date, plus a refuelling fee of €30.
- No refund is provided for excess fuel.
8. Mileage Policy
The rental includes unlimited mileage.
9. Additional Drivers and Extras
- Additional drivers are permitted. All additional drivers must meet the same requirements and be registered in the rental agreement.
- Additional driver fee: €5 per day.
- Available car extras:
- Baby Seat: €5/day (max. €25/booking)
- Booster Seat: €5/day (max. €25/booking)
- Infant Seat: €5/day (max. €25/booking)
- GPS: —€/day
- Mobile Phone Holder: —€/day
- Map: —€/booking
10. Insurance Exclusions
Insurance coverage DOES NOT apply in the following cases:
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Unauthorized driver, Off-road driving,Use of incorrect fuel, Loss of keys, Locking yourself out of the vehicle, Interior damage, Roof or underbody damage, Unreported accident
11. Accidents, Damages and Traffic Fines
- In the event of an accident, the renter is required to notify the company immediately.
- A police report is required in every accident case.
- The renter is required to complete and retain the Accident Report Form (European Accident Statement) at the accident scene.
- Taking photographs at the accident scene is recommended and/or required.
- The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, and toll charges incurred during the rental period.
12. Vehicle Use Restrictions
- The rented vehicle may only be used for lawful purposes on suitable public roads.
- Only authorised drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle.
- Pets are not allowed inside the vehicle.
13. Delivery, Collection and Out-of-Hours Service
Available delivery and collection locations are displayed during the booking process. Additional charges may apply for delivery/collection in remote areas from our base location.
14. Ferry Transport / Travel Restrictions
Transporting or using the vehicle outside the region/island is not permitted.
15. Cancellation, No-Show and Early Return
In the event of a no-show, no refund will be provided.
16. Vehicle Return, Cleanliness and Inspection
- The vehicle inspection upon return is carried out in the presence of a company representative.
- The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.
17. Data Protection and Privacy
- The company collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU 2016/679).
- Personal data is used exclusively for rental-related purposes.
- Data is shared with third parties only when required by law or with service providers necessary for the operation of the rental service.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Greece.
